Concrete overlays are made up of a combination of cement, various aggregates, and polymer resins. The purpose of a concrete overlay is to make existing concrete look better. In many cases it is not necessary to tear out existing concrete that has surface imperfections such as cracks, pitting, or discoloration. Concrete overlays are a great solution to "ugly" concrete that is otherwise structurally sound. The following types of concrete overlays are available.
- Concrete Resurfacers/ Microtoppings
Micro-toppings are applied less than 1/8" thick to resurface existing concrete. Micro-toppings can be colored by using stains or integral color, or a combination of both. Decorative saw-cuts can also be incorporated for results that are stunning.
- Stamp Overlays
Stamp Overlays are typically applied at ¼" thick to add patterns and texture to existing concrete surfaces. The same look of regular stamped concrete can be achieved over existing concrete with a stamp overlay. This process works on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. - Spray Texture / Knock-Down Overlays
Spray texture or knock down overlays create a non skid surface that looks good and is easy to apply. Because of this safety feature, this process is ideal for pool decks, patios, walkways, or wherever a non-skid decorative surface is desired. Spray texture can be applied alone or in combination with stencils to create beautiful concrete surfaces.
